Another Summer Comes To A Close #KinderMom

Everyone always says it, but this summer really did fly by! We stuck around home for the most part this summer with a few road trips thrown in to keep things interesting. We made great use of the new splash park built in our neighbourhood, spent lots of time with friends and explored some new areas of Alberta. We did tons of fishing, a bit of hiking and spent some time out on the ATV. Of course the biggest highlight is yet to come...we will be ending the summer with a bang this coming Monday when we get to see Katy Perry in concert! This is definitely a summer we will remember for a long time to come.

At the beginning of the summer, I worried we would regret not traveling but that wasn't the case. I really enjoyed having no big travel plans this year. It made for a laid back, spontaneous time filled with fun and smiles. If your summer was full of smiles too, you may want to check out the latest innovation from KINDER.

This summer, KINDER introduced a new “photo-strip” app that you can access right on their facebook page. It’s really easy to use and gives you a cute photo keepsake. I made this photo strip full of smiles using the app in under a minute! I kept mine simple but you can add some fun and silly frames and filters that are sure to make your kids giggle. It’s just a few simple steps:

Step 1: Fan KINDER on Facebook
Step 2: Start your photo-strip
Step 3: Upload your photos
Step 4: Choose a fancy KINDER frame
Step 5: Choose a filter (make yourself look silly)
Step 6: Save & share

Add #kindersmiles to any photo-strip and you can see your smile in the app’s gallery view.

What was the highlight of your summer?

Back To School With Dudley

It's that time of year again. The kids are getting ready to head back to school and I'm running from store to store trying to get everything they need. I'm always looking for products that are practical, stylish and good value. Thank goodness Dudley provides all three in their innovative products! They have a full line of products that any student would be proud to own. The latest items Dudley has introduced are the FULLY LOADED Lunch and the Load N Lock Pencil Pod and I received both to try out.

The Load N Lock Pencil Pod is the best pencil case I've ever seen! It is a hard shell to protect your supplies and keep them all in one place. The top section (where it's clear) is easy to access with a flip of the lid - great for pencils, erasers and the like. The bottom part can be locked with the built-in combination lock to keep your items secure - perfect for calculators, phones or any item you want to keep private. There are even elasticized bands to hold these items in place. The Pencil Pod comes in a wide variety of colours and retails for $14.99.
The FULLY LOADED Lunch is a lunch bag that's perfect for school or work. The first thing I noticed about this bag is that it seems compact but it is huge inside! There's tons of room for lunch, snacks and beverages. It is fully insulated inside and has a mesh pocket to hold your more fragile food in place. The bag itself is very sturdy and the handle is thick and rubberized making it really comfortable to carry. There are mesh pockets and zipper compartments on the outside to conveniently carry any small items you may be taking with you. The mesh pockets are also great to slip notes in to if your kids need a little reminder about something or if you just want to brighten their day with some words of encouragement! This item also retails for $14.99.
Dudley is hosting a sweepstakes over on their facebook page where you vote for the Outfit of the Day for your chance to win back to school prizes. The grand prize is a $500 back-to-school shopping spree and an assortment of Dudley products. The sweepstakes ends on August 31st so head over there quickly and get your vote in!

Spend A Night With The Other Woman {Review}

With summer in full swing, I've been watching a lot of kids movies and have been craving some more mature entertainment. Thanks goodness for the recent release of The Other Woman on blu-ray and DVD! I had a great time watching Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann master the art of revenge when they find out they are being cheated on by the same man. It's the perfect movie to watch with a group of girlfriends or your husband. If he needs some convincing just mention the scene with Kate Upton running in a bikini and I'm sure he'll come around.

This movie is unpredictable and loaded with physical comedy. The actresses have great chemistry and wonderful comedic timing. A few scenes are a bit over the top but that's part of the fun. The laughs continue after the movie is over with several of deleted scenes and a gag reel so be sure to check out the bonus feature. The Other Woman is available on blu-ray, DVD and digital HD now!
Cameron Diaz leads a knockout cast in this irreverent comedy about love, lust and the laws of karma. New York attorney Carly Whitten (Diaz) is nobody’s fool. So when she accidentally discovers that her too-good-to-be-true boyfriend Mark (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) is married, she’s less than thrilled. Not only that, she and Mark’s wife Kate (Leslie Mann), learn about yet another mistress (Kate Upton)! Before long, however, the betrayed beauties have become unlikely pals who’ve decided to teach their three-timing man a lesson. The more the trio learns about Mark, the worse he seems, and the more fun they have without him!

Rio 2 Flies Into Homes on Blu-ray & DVD {Review}

My family really enjoyed the original Rio movie so we were excited to get a chance to see Rio 2 when it was released last week. My husband, my 9 year old and I all chuckled our way through the fun story that revisits Blu and Jewel, who now have a family of their own. The movie is so colorful and lively with lots of musical numbers that will have everyone singing along! My 9 year old liked it so much, he invited some friends over to watch it the next day. I was busy with chores and could hear them all laughing throughout the show. My husband and I liked the movie but the kids really seem to find it extra funny!
Rio 2 is available to own now on 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray and DVD. The DVD comes with some fun extras but the Blu-ray is absolutely jam-packed with nearly andhour ad a half of bonus content. There's a deleted scene, character auditions sing-along and dance-along songs and so much more. It even includes 15 exclusive level of Angry Birds Rio!

Get ready to shake your tail feathers! Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment takes you deep into the Brazilian Amazon Rainforest for the most fun you’ll have all summer, as RIO 2 debuts on 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray and DVD July 15. Just in time for summer vacation, this “hilarious family adventure” (Jeff Craig, Sixty Second Preview) will samba its way into your home with exciting bonus features and extras everyone will enjoy. Projected to eclipse more than $490 million worldwide at the box office, the animated hit is the must-own family title of the season.

Cereal and Milk - Still Best Friends After All These Years {Giveaway}

What do Bert & Ernie, Forrest & Jenny and Thelma & Louise have in common? They go together like a bowl of cereal and milk of course! For the 78 per cent of Canadians who eat cereal for breakfast, cereal and milk are practically inseparable. In fact, according to the Kellogg’s Cereal & Milk Survey, 85 per cent of cereal lovers say they can’t have one without the other.

Although it’s clear that Cereal & Milk are best friends in a bowl, the survey revealed that across Canada, star-crossed cereal lovers actually disagree on the ideal cereal to milk ratio. Forty per cent (40%) say that one third of the bowl should be filled with milk. Thirty per cent (30%) maintain that you should add milk only until your cereal begins to float. And a small but mighty six per cent (6%) of cereal experts are adamant that there should be more milk than cereal in the bowl.

I fit into the 30 percent that adds milk until the cereal begins to float. How do you enjoy your cereal? Check out the infographic below for some fun facts about cereal and milk:
In my opinion, nobody knows cereal better than Kellogg's so I'm thrilled to offer a wonderful Kellogg's prize pack to one lucky winner*. Enter using the giveaway form below.
